The world today

11 Jan, 2023

This series of images is part of the study of color images, which aims to draw attention to several problems that we are experiencing today on planet Earth. Either problems associated with the environment, species extinctions, or political and social problems, such as hunger, war, economic wars, etc. Today we live in a world flooded by the use of plastic, not that this use is bad at all, for example plastic is light. Aviation, for example, has progressed and minimized aircraft consumption, but it is not recycled correctly. Environmental problems are synonymous, today, with economic problems and interests in the search for new forms of energy production, but as would be expected, they also present positive and negative points, as in the case of lithium. Every year we reach the consumption of resources that the Earth gives us in advance, around July. This reveals that the world has become polluting, consumerist and in a way selfish. Another important element that is talked about so much today, due to the war, is the use of Nuclear. What will our future be? Extinction?

About the photographer

Antonio Coelho

Electrical engineer from Portugal, with a great taste for photography. In 2010 I started to photograph self-taught only in analog and created a small collection of analog machines. In 2015 I buy my first DSLR and start shooting nature, landscape, architecture and still life. In 2017 I am one of the Xposure winners in Sharjah. The following year, 2018 and then in 2020, I won the Sony Awards with the Portugal, National Award. Since then, I have focused more on advertising photography. I have achieved several titles in photography such as IPA, MIFA, SONY, PX3, Xposure, Monoawards, Monovisions, 35 awards, and several contest in Portugal and around the world. I would like the world to know my work, that's why I think it's important to participate in this contest. There is always a different way of seeing the world around us and of representing our feelings and ideas about certain topics, something I try to do creatively.
