The lad on the other side

14 Feb, 2026

“The Lad on the Other Side” is a project that reflects on the loss of innocence. It draws inspiration from the story of a boy who is trapped and, in order to escape, must leave behind the child he once was.In my photography, I consistently merge fashion and art, searching for beauty within darkness—shaping a universe that is at once grotesque and delicate.Shot between the Highlands of Scotland and London, England, in 2024 and 2025, The Lad on the Other Side blends documentary realism with fictional narrative, particularly in its collaboration with fashion and portrait talents. The project remains unpublished in any form to date.

About the photographer

Aida Gren

"Im a 28 years old film director and photographer from the south of Spain, I live in Madrid. I was awarded with the Best of the year prize in the International Fashion Photography Masters from EFTI School. There, I filmed my first Fashion Film, Corazn Parto, that was selected in film festivals all over Europe, including ASVOFF (the most prestigious fashion film festival) and UK Fashion Film Festival. Ive published my editorials in magazines like Numro Netherlands, Jane or Revs and I was the cover of GQ Portugal last May. I exposed my work in some exposition centers of Madrid and Milan. This year Ive been one of the finalists of Gomma Black and White Awards. My projects are really personal and fashion is always a big part of them, its a tool I use for expressing myself. My way of working is experimental because I like playing with different formats and mixing them."
