"This is a fashion editorial I created that is born from torture, mockery and submission, but it actually talks about power and rising. I wanted to tell the story of a woman that, though burnt, was strong. I found on the images an entailment with objects and nature, all of it inserted inside my oneiric and grotesque universe. In this editorial, fashion and photography narrate how sensibility and strength aren’t exclusive terms. Decay can take us to unexpectedly precious places."

About the photographer

Aida Gren

"I’m a 28 years old film director and photographer from the south of Spain, I live in Madrid. I was awarded with the “Best of the year” prize in the International Fashion Photography Masters from EFTI School. There, I filmed my first Fashion Film, Corazón Partío, that was selected in film festivals all over Europe, including ASVOFF (the most prestigious fashion film festival) and UK Fashion Film Festival. I’ve published my editorials in magazines like Numéro Netherlands, Jane or Revs and I was the cover of GQ Portugal last May. I exposed my work in some exposition centers of Madrid and Milan. This year I’ve been one of the finalists of Gomma Black and White Awards. My projects are really personal and fashion is always a big part of them, it’s a tool I use for expressing myself. My way of working is experimental because I like playing with different formats and mixing them."
