« I started this project in 2024. From the outset, I knew I wanted to work on film. I found it in a laboratory in my hometown of Kyiv: specially processed Duna RedScale Type 135. The red tonal shift it produces reflects exactly what I feel and wish to express.We are living in a state of rupture—and it continues to deepen. »

Olena Lemberska

« I am a Ukrainian photographer, born and based in Kyiv. Alongside my artistic practice, I work professionally in medicine.In 2024, I completed a Master’s degree in Art Studies at the Faculty of Audiovisual Arts and Production, Kharkiv State Academy of Culture. My education includes residencies in Lithuania (Klaipėda and Nida, 2021) and a residency at Ins Blaue Gallery, Remscheid, Germany (2024), as part of the “Hundred Women” project supported by Ukrainian Women Photography. I also studied portrait and art photography under curator Anna Melnikova.My work has been exhibited internationally, including at FOTODOK (Utrecht), Vitrinemainz (Germany), ArtPrize (USA), Ins Blaue Gallery (Germany), Photo Vienna Festival, and major institutions in Ukraine such as the Poltava Art Museum, YermilovCenter (Kharkiv), and Korsak Museum (Lutsk).Through photography, I explore psychological depth, memory, and the lived experience of contemporary Ukraine. »
