Motivated by a lifelong passion for nail art, I immersed myself in various neighborhoods worldwide, forging connections with local artists and communities. Examining the historical roots of nail adornment across centuries and cultures, Nails Fantasy looks at the recent surge in popularity of nail art which challenges conventional beauty norms and promotes inclusivity across gender. It also delves into the complex dynamics of the nail industry, from the new entrepreneurial spirit of home-based salons in Cuba to the bustling nail markets in Mexico City, sparking discussions about beauty economy, labor rights, immigration, and race relations, particularly evident in cities like New York.
