Limbo

Limbo is a nocturnal visual diary tracing the situations, sensations, atmospheres, and relationships that have shaped my life—and the lives of those who have crossed my path—since I chose to live in Bologna. The images are fragments of an identity in the making: remnants of a journey that began after the pandemic, when I decided to leave my previous life behind and search for my own voice and a new way of inhabiting the world. They accompany my ongoing quest for a home, both physical and metaphorical—traces of places and people who have influenced my time here, moments of intensity I have sought to give form to.In Bologna, I embraced a life marked by instability and poverty, but also by experimentation, encounters, and a more spontaneous way of living. I experienced the housing crisis firsthand, yet this precariousness allowed me to root myself in public spaces and engage with the city—and with others—in a more creative way. It compelled me to rethink the meaning of home, even leading me to live in squats. The night became a space of immersion and warmth, but also of loss and uncertainty. Above all, it has been a time of encounters—meeting people whose lives and voices have irreversibly shaped my own.
