"...it's easier for me like that..."

The project is about the facts and the feelings of a period of life, in which a question of gender identity and the following decision have implications on one’s own life and on the lives of loved ones.
Having been a photographer for quite some time, there’s a long personal journey that has been made. I believe that the way we see things depends very much on the experiences we have made throughout our lives. Having my camera on me for most of the time, a lot of the situations I live appear on my photographs or at least influence them. So the photographs are kind of a result of my life. Very often, I don’t have a concept when I start a project. I am very intuitive when it comes to developing a project. I collect situations, moments, and then, little by little, a thread appears. I therefore need quite some time to let the images sink in after they’ve been taken. It’s only afterwards that I can see more clearly and it’s only then when I can start telling a story with the images taken.
