Finissage is a catalogue/artist book summing up my exhibition “A Familiar Place” at Stockholm City Museum, on show this autumn (2024). The series is about everyday life in Stockholm, Sweden. Finissage is published as a leporello by Swedish publisher Journal (2024).

Simon Johansson
Simon Johansson is a freelance photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden. He is a member of the Swedish Association of Professional Photographers (SFF) and the Swedish Union of Journalists (SJF).In 2016 he released his first photobook, Across the Bridge, about everyday life on the Swedish island of Öland. This was followed by A Familiar Place (2018), a portrait of daily life in Stockholm, and The Young Ones (2019), a project exploring children and their worlds. In 2023 Johansson returned to Öland with No Man’s Land, concluding his long-term photographic exploration of the island. In 2024 he released Finissage, an artist book and catalogue accompanying his solo exhibition A Familiar Place at the Stockholm City Museum. All titles are published by Journal.Johansson’s photographic series have been exhibited internationally as well as in Sweden. He has received several working grants from the Swedish Authors’ Fund and project funding from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee. In 2022 he was awarded the Sune Jonsson Photo Award, followed in 2023 by the City of Stockholm Award.
