«My project « Abyss » focuses on exploring the boundary between reality and the oneiric world. I perceive the world as a reflection of our psyche and photograph phenomena that appear in nature, considering them as spontaneous manifestations of a world that resonates with symbols and elements emerging from our consciousness. By exploring the very fabric of reality, I intend to find gateways into the imaginary world, allowing every shape and phenomenon to become a mirror of ourselves. It reveals this tendency of our minds to live in the space between these two worlds in an inevitable and incessant back-and-forth, our imagination and reality being in a constant dialogue within us.  Swinging like a pendulum, our psyche is transitioning from the dream world to the rational, from sleep to wakefulness, from contemplation of mystery to revelation. Each journey is contributing to the richness of our inner life. Photography serves as a bridge between imagination and reality, offering the illusion, for a moment seemingly frozen in time, of a utopian balance."

About the photographer

Florian Langellier

Florian Langellier is a 35-year-old photographer who began studying photography at the "Le 75" Art School in Brussels in 2008. He has lived in Belgium and France and embarked on a series of travels after his studies. An attraction to Nordic lights and atmospheres, a desire to immerse himself in natural spaces, and the intention to convey all of this through photography led him first to Norway, Ireland and Scotland, and ultimately the French Alps and the Pyrenees. Several trips to Italy and India have inspired him by allowing contact with ancient civilizations. Adopting a contemplative artistic approach and drawing influences from various mediums such as music, painting, cinema, and literature, he strives to surpass the narrative and visual patterns commonly attributed to photography. He is now based in Toulouse, France.
